For the most reliable answer you should take your jewelry to a certified professional, but you can do a few things to get a better idea for yourself:
Magnification
(If in jewelry):
The Sun Test: look at your jewelry under bright light. If all the pearls are exactly the same color, they are most likely not real.
Observe the drill holes: if the nacre is flaking around the holes, it is most likely fake. Also "The holes of fake pearls often form a shallow bowl shape, while the holes of real pearls are more likely to be flat."
Observe the setting: if it appears cheap, chances are the pearls are not real
