Restoring Pram Baby Carriage?
I recently found the "pram" style baby carriage that my mom used for me when I was a baby in my grandmother's attic. Its in ok shape, but definatly needs restoring if I am to someday use it for my own babies! (which I love the idea of having my future children in my own carriage) Its has a the dark navy blue bassinet part, and then a chrome chasis, if thats what you call it. Most of the chasis has some rust, but not too bad like its eating it, just some cosmetic rust. I would love to restore it to its previous condition. The basinett part is in good shape and just needs some cleaning, and the tires look like they need to be replaced. I would love to try it myself, but I'm scared I'll ruin it. Where would I go about having this restored? Or have any tips in doing it myself? Thank you!!
your lucky to have that chance to use your old stuff with your own children...
lightly sand the chasis with fine sand paper and it should be ok..
wash the bassinette carefully with 1part bleach to 10part warm water let it dry in the sun...
for the wheels try ebay as they sometimes have wheels on there that could be used..
or take the wheels to a rubber supplier and they might ba able to make you a new set..
